Just over two weeks ago, MAKE IT HAPPEN was just an idea.

No venue

No sponsors

No confirmed speakers

No huge budget

Just a vision

A vision to create a room in London where creatives, founders, entrepreneurs, and ambitious people could genuinely connect, not through surface-level corny networking that makes you regret ever leaving the house but through real conversations, opportunities, and community.

And somehow… we actually did it Joe 🥳

Building in Public

Do you know how embarrassing it is to post everyday publically on social media without having it all figured out. It was something that took me way out of my comfort zone but funnily enough was one of the most powerful parts of this experience.

Every day, I documented the process online:

  • the uncertainty

  • the venue search

  • the rejection emails

  • the wins

  • the stress

  • the momentum

People didn’t just see an event flyer at the end they watched the event come to life in real(ish) time.

In a world where everyone wants to appear polished, I wanted to show what entrepreneurship actually looks like…the highs and lows.

The Goal Was Never “Just an Event”

MAKE IT HAPPEN was designed to answer a bigger question:

What happens when creatives stop building in isolation?

Too many talented people, including myself struggle because they lack:

  • access

  • visibility

  • the right network

  • strategic positioning

  • belief in themselves

I wanted to create a space where opportunity could circulate naturally ✨

A room where:

  • founders met collaborators

  • creatives met investors

  • people discovered new ideas

  • confidence was built

  • and conversations turned into possibilities

What Happened on the Night

The room was filled with entrepreneurs, creatives, fashion founders, investors, marketers, and ambitious professionals from across London.

The evening included:

  • a live founder and investment conversation panel

  • networking sessions

  • speed pitching

  • “What I Do / What I Need” opportunity sharing

  • free professional headshots

  • founder conversations around visibility, positioning, funding, and growth

But honestly?

The most valuable part wasn’t even the agenda.

It was the energy in the room.

People stayed long after the event ended simply talking, exchanging contacts, brainstorming ideas, and connecting with people they otherwise would never have met.

The Metrics That Matter

In just 14 days:

  • The event went from concept to execution

  • Registrations grew organically through storytelling and community engagement

  • We reached full registration capacity before the event

  • Multiple collaborations and partnerships were secured

  • Brands were connected to real showcase opportunities

  • Founders gained professional content and headshots for their businesses

  • New relationships, collaborations, and opportunities were created in one evening

Most importantly:

people left feeling inspired, seen, and activated 🚀

The Biggest Lesson

This experience reminded me that people are craving real connection.

Not perfectly curated entrepreneurship.

Not performative networking.

Not gatekept opportunities.

Real rooms.

Real conversations.

Real people building things together.

And sometimes all it takes is one person deciding to create the space.

What’s Next

MAKE IT HAPPEN was never meant to be a one-off event. This is becoming something bigger:

A growing ecosystem at the intersection of creativity, entrepreneurship, technology, visibility, and opportunity.

This event also sparked a deeper realisation for me around AI-assisted entrepreneurship, how founders can use storytelling, positioning, and modern tools to move faster, build smarter, and create opportunities in real time.

Over the coming months I’ll be looking to host another event in Lagos Nigeria and via my socials, I’ll be sharing more about:

  • building in public

  • AI-assisted entrepreneurship

  • founder positioning

  • fundraising

  • creative business growth

  • community-driven opportunity creation

Because if this experience proved anything, it’s this you do not need to have everything figured out to begin. Sometimes faith, movement, and a willingness to start are enough to change the trajectory of your life.

And this is only the beginning !!
